Joseph Draps founded this world-famous chocolatier in Brussels almost a century ago. The street is named after the legendary Lady Godiva, who rode through the streets of Coventry with just her flowing locks covering her face so that her husband would repay the excessive taxes he had imposed on the locals. As her horse took her naked through the city, all but one of the townspeople covered their eyes and shutters; the one who had a peek gave rise to the term “Peeping Tom.” Godiva’s chocolates are also worth looking at. Godiva has earned its place in the pantheon of greats in Belgium, the spiritual birthplace of premium chocolate.
